Large creatures. Lot's of disruptive and unexpected instants. Very good synergistic value between cards.
This deck is versatile and has many lines of play. Putting down Atla Palani, Nest Tender and dropping a few eggs is usually a good start. Try to keep the eggs alive until a board wipe happens and you should get a few large creatures while everyone else has no creatures.
Purphoros, God of the Forge or Aura Shards paired with Goblin Rabblemaster, Legion Warboss, or any of the several token generating will generally be bad news for your opponents. Earthcraft alone is excellent for mana ramp and Earthcraft + Squirrel Nest creates infinite Squirrel tokens.
Bombs like Omnath, Locus of Rage, Zacama, Primal Calamity, Rith, the Awakener, can quickly to the game to your favor if used correctly. Casting Craterhoof Behemoth or Triumph of the Hordes usually win games on the spot.
Cast Silence or Orim's Chant on your turn to protect a win condition, or during your opponents upkeep to make them skip their turn. Rune-Tail, Kitsune Ascendant / Rune-Tail's Essence flips to make excellant creature protection. Be mindful of total creature counts for things like Arachnogenesis or Fumigate.
